OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey voiced his displeasure over what he called "slander" against quarterback Lamar Jackson.

On Thursday, Humphrey went on a tangent after being asked how Jackson looked at practice. Jackson returned to the field this week after missing the last two games with a left ankle injury.

"It seems like Lamar's the only quarterback kind of gets the slander that he gets for anytime anything is going on," Humphrey said. "I feel like you just don't see these same articles. I'm in the hot tub and it's this, that and the third. Unfair treatment."

Humphrey was asked if he was referring to "injury" slander and he didn't clarify.

Humphrey then said, "I just feel like sometimes it seems like it gets away from ... I don't know if it's because of lack of agent or what, that no one can kind of defend him. But I do know this, if Lamar Jackson can play, if he's healthy enough to play, he will play and that's kind of all I can say for that."

When asked again exactly what he meant, Humphrey replied, "Whatever I said is whatever I said. You can take it however you want."

Jackson, who sprained his ankle 18 days ago, moved around well at Thursday's practice. He participated in every drill during the media viewing portion. He was listed as a limited participant for the second straight day.

Before bringing up the "slander" against Jackson, Humphrey was initially asked about how Jackson looked at practice.

"I think anything relating to Lamar is the thing that I don't talk about," Humphrey said. "I think the only one that really does talk about [Lamar] is Lamar. I think if Lamar can play, it'd be great. If he doesn't, we got Snoop [backup Tyler Huntley]."

If Jackson can play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, it would be a timely return. Jackson is 11-2 in his career against the Bengals, throwing 24 touchdowns against six interceptions.
