Our goal is not merely to integrate systems and data, but to ensure that better data produces better policies, better public services, and more tangible benefits..

Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Development Planning Minister Rachmat Pambudy said the One Data Indonesia Bill was drafted to strengthen national data governance while making data the basis for development.

"We are confident this bill was made to deliver a new breakthrough in national data governance as well as a basis for national development," Pambudy said here on Monday.

He made this statement at the Level I Decision-Making Working Meeting on the bill with the House of Representatives (DPR) Legislation Body at the Parliamentary Complex.

According to Pambudy, strengthening national data governance through the bill is necessary to ensure that government data is processed and used more quickly, precisely, accurately, and securely, thereby delivering broader benefits to the public.

Pambudy, who also serves as Chair of the One Data Indonesia Steering Council, said the bill would address challenges in implementing One Data Indonesia, which has so far been based on Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019. He explained that the One Data Indonesia Law would strengthen the foundation established by the regulation while expanding the scope of data management and utilization.

"The presidential regulation built an important foundation for One Data Indonesia, but the setting of standards, metadata, reference codes, master data, data lists, as well as interoperability and data sharing needs to be improved through law," he stated.

Pambudy noted that the transformation of One Data Indonesia is expected to affect government planning and budgeting processes, not only by improving data collection efficiency but also by supporting the implementation of various government programs.

"Our goal is not merely to integrate systems and data, but to ensure that better data produces better policies, better public services, and more tangible benefits for all Indonesians," he added.
