Death in Paradise, Rivals and James Bond film favourites confirmed for cast of new Hercule Poirot series from the BBC

As viewers await Edward Bluemel's new take on Agatha Christie's Poirot in upcoming BBC series Hercule, a host of additional cast members have now been announced.
While no characters have yet been confirmed, we now know that joining the cast will be Jessica Alexander (The Beauty), Honor Swinton Byrne (War), Omari Douglas (Black Doves), Paul Forman (Emily in Paris), Arthur Hughes (Gone).
Also in the cast are Ralf Little (Death in Paradise), River Medway (RuPaul's Drag Race UK), Katherine Parkinson (Rivals), Natalie Quarry (Call the Midwife) and Toby Stephens (Die Another Day).
The six-part series, will be made up of three adaptations of three of Christie’s early stories, with the first being Lord Edgware Dies, and the second being Peril at End House.

The series is currently filming primarily in Liverpool, with the synopsis calling it "an intimate study of Hercule Poirot the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars".
We have also been teased that the series, which is written by Benji Walters (Code of Silence) and directed by Jonny Campbell (Am I Being Unreasonable?), Chanya Button (Doctor Who) and Alrick Riley (Bridgerton), will introduce Poirot to "future friends and allies and one particular nemesis…"
Previously, a host of other supporting cast members were confirmed, including James D'Arcy (Oppenheimer), Jack Gleeson (House of Guinness), Tamsin Greig (Riot Women), James Nesbitt (Run Away), Mawaan Rizwan (The Split Up) and more.

When Bluemel's casting was first announced in June, James Prichard, executive producer for Agatha Christie Limited, said in a statement: "My father had the privilege of working with David Suchet for nearly 25 years, and I now have the good fortune of being able to share my great grandmother’s brilliant stories with a new generation of viewers.
"Edward Bluemel is an extremely talented performer and will make a great addition to the long line of actors that have played this celebrated character, aided and abetted by Benji Walters's thoughtful scripts. I cannot wait to see Edward on screen as Hercule Poirot."
Hercule is coming soon to BBC One and iPlayer.
