Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of India’s five-match ODI series against New Zealand after failing to regain full fitness from a hamstring injury.

The right-arm pacer, whose availability was subject to fitness clearance, needs more time to build up the workload required to return to competitive action.

Prasidh is expected to join the India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, subject to clearing the Return to Play (RTP) assessment. The match will offer him an opportunity to regain match fitness ahead of the two-Test series against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj will join India A for the second four-day game against New Zealand A, which begins on October 31.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who remains part of India’s ODI squad for the first match against New Zealand on November 4, will also link up with the India A squad for the third and final four-day game. The stint is expected to provide him with valuable match practice ahead of the Test series, which begins on November 19.
