‘Big Mouth,’ ‘Baywatch’ and ‘The Bold Type’ Scribes Elected to Writers Guild West Board

The Writers Guild of America has elected writers behind Big Mouth, Baywatch and The Bold Type to serve on the union‘s board of directors.

In addition to re-electing five incumbent candidates, union members voted in writers Andrew Goldberg (Big Mouth, Mating Season), Mark Swift (Send Help, Baywatch) and Nikita Hamilton (A Million Little Things, The Bold Type) as new board members in their 2026 elections, which concluded on Tuesday. All three were previously tapped by the union‘s board nominating committee to run.

The election saw existing board members Melinda Hsu, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Chris Hazzard, Cathryn Humphris and Danny Tolli retaining their seats on the board for another two-year term.

In an contest that saw 2,451 votes cast, Hsu won the most support (1,661 votes), followed by Bob-Waskberg (1,441) and Hazzard (1,429).

The new and re-elected board members will join a group headed up by union president Michele Mulroney, vice president Travis Donnelly and secretary-treasurer Peter Murrieta, none of whom faced reelection this year.

Members had between Aug. 26 and Sept. 15 to cast their votes. The vote count was managed by Votenet Solutions and the WGA West’s tellers committee.
