Euromatch NPFL: Ayeni Hails Doma United’s Display In Plateau United Draw

Doma United technical adviser Ayodeji Ayeni has praised his players for their performance despite their 2-2 draw against Plateau United in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Matchday 5 encounter.

The Savannah Tigers raced into a two-goal lead at home, with Adegbite Michael scoring both goals. However, Plateau United fought back in the second half to secure a share of the points through goals from Gideon Monday and Paul Samson.

Ayeni Satisfied Despite Dropped Lead

Although Doma United surrendered a two-goal advantage, Ayeni expressed satisfaction with his team’s overall display, insisting that their attacking performance was a positive sign.

“My players played well. If we didn’t play well, we couldn’t have scored. We were trying to consolidate on our goals, but their first goal came against the run of play through a deflection, which we can’t help,” Ayeni told Doma United’s media.

“We just need to psyche the players up and lift their game so we can pick up points on the road.

“To some extent, I am satisfied with the performance of my players, especially the fact that they were able to score goals.”

Doma United Seek End To Winless Streak

The result means Doma United have now gone two league matches without a win.

The Gombe-based side dropped to third position on the NPFL table with 10 points from five matches.

Ayeni will be hoping his team can return to winning ways when they travel to face Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Sunday.
