Kaizer Chiefs remain unbeaten after four-goal thriller against Richards Bay

The hosts hit Kaizer Chiefs with a fast start in the eighth minute. Nqaba Xulu found the back of the net to give Richards Bay an early lead after catching Brandon Petersen slow in the build up play.

Amakhosi responded 11 minutes later. Lebohang Maboe calmly converting from the penalty spot to restore parity.

NQABA XULU LEADS RICHARDS BAY CHARGE

Richards Bay refused to let the momentum slip away before halftime. Xulu completed his brace in the 39th minute, sending the home side into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

The second half saw Kaizer Chiefs increase the pressure as they searched for a way back into the contest. The visitors continued pushing forward despite facing a determined Richards Bay defence.

Their persistence eventually paid off in the 77th minute when Siphesihle Ndlovu fired home to make it 2-2 and give Amakhosi renewed hope of completing the comeback.

KAIZER CHIEFS HELD TO A DRAW

Amakhosi displayed the strongest urge for a decisive third goal during the closing stage. They created an entertaining finish at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

There were late attacks and several bookings as the match became increasingly tense. However neither Richards Bay nor Kaizer Chiefs could find the winning goal.

The final whistle confirmed a 2-2 stalemate, with both sides forced to settle for a point from an entertaining Betway Premiership encounter.
