Young pacer Prince Yadav made a valuable contribution with the bat as India edged past West Indies in the third T20I on Sunday. Batting at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Prince smashed 13 runs off just six deliveries, including three boundaries, helping India reach an imposing total of 223. In reply, West Indies put up a spirited fight but were restricted to 209/7, handing India a 14-run victory and a 2-1 advantage in the five-match series. Prince's late cameo ultimately proved crucial in the context of the match.

Following the win, Prince disclosed that he had used Abhishek Sharma's bat during his brief but impactful innings. The revelation led to a light-hearted moment between the two teammates in a video shared by the BCCI on X, with Prince and Abhishek engaging in some entertaining banter.

"Obviously, bhaiya team ke liye contribute karna toh acchi baat hi hai, woh chahe bowling ho, batting ho, fielding ho, kisi se bhi kare, toh main bhi bas accha hi feel kar raha hu. Abhi bhai ne woh bat diya tha na mere ko, toh bhaiya bole ki beizzati mat kara diyo bat ki, toh maine uski izzat rakhi. (Obviously, brother, it is great to contribute to the team, whether it's with the ball, bat, or in the fielding. So, I am feeling good. So, Abhi bhaiya gave me his bat earlier and said, 'don't embarrass the bat'. So, I kept its honour)," Yadav said.

"Main England mein bhi khela tha bhaiya ke bat se, chhakka mara tha. Haan abhi maine chhakka mara tha Ireland mein bhi, aur yahan pe bhi, fir bhaiya ka hi bat leke jaunga, agli baar bhi main fir. Thank you bhaiya for the bat. (I played with Abhi bhaiya's bat in England (Ireland) too)," he added.

Meanwhile, Abhishek also heaped praise on Prince for his capabilities to hit crucial runs in the end. "I've seen his batting; if anyone hasn't seen it, he's famous in Delhi for 'single phatti'. Single phatti means one-on-one matches. In that, you have to both bat and bowl.

"So he has that talent to hit sixes and fours. We saw a bit of it today, and we'll see more in future. As for the bat, well...you need power too," Abhishek said.

Captain Shreyas Iyer had also praised Prince for the cameo. "We steadied the ship in the middle order as well. That took us to a commendable total of 223. Even Prince coming and playing that cameo at the end, those were useful runs, I felt," Shreyas said in the post-match presentation.
