Six changes: Orlando Pirates starting 11 vs La Cure Waves

Translate

Orlando Pirates host Mauritian champions La Cure Waves in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie at the Orlando Amstel Arena.

The first leg ended in a surprise 0-0 draw in Port Louis, leaving the tie wide open ahead of the decisive second leg.

Orlando Pirates dominated large periods of the opening match but failed to convert their chances against a stubborn La Cure Waves defence.

Starting line up: Chaine, Sebelebele, Seema, Zulu, Rapoo, Mthiyane, Mokobodi, Masilela, Kgositsile, Appollis, Mbuthuma.

Substitutes: Dladla, Sibisi, Ndaba, Derbyshire, Dansin, Selepe, Nemtajela, Ngwato, Radiopane.

CAN ORLANDO PIRATES AVOID ANOTHER EARLY EXIT?

The pressure will be on Abdeslam Ouaddou to guide Orlando Pirates into the next round after the club suffered an early continental exit last season.

The Betway Premiership champions remain favourites despite several injury concerns. Mohau Nkota, Ghampani Lungu, Evidence Makgopa and Thalente Mbatha remain unavailable for the clash.

Orlando Pirates have still named a competitive starting lineup, with Sipho Chaine, Neo Rapoo, Lebone Seema and Kamogelo Sebelebele among those handed starts.

CAN LA CURE WAVES PRODUCE A MAJOR UPSET?

La Cure Waves arrive in Soweto with confidence after holding Orlando Pirates to a goalless draw in the first leg.

Head coach Jerome Thomas knows his side face a major challenge against the South African champions.

The Mauritian side will need to remain disciplined, handle the expected early pressure and make the most of their opportunities.

For La Cure Waves, a goal could completely change the tie and put Orlando Pirates under serious pressure.

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, know that anything less than a place in the next round would represent another disappointing start to their continental campaign.
