Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has donated football boots to 350 young players participating in the Kwara Kiddies League through his foundation, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots football development. The donation is aimed at providing the youngsters with the equipment needed to develop their skills and pursue their football ambitions.

The distribution ceremony, held on Saturday, was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Bolakale Mogaji, who commended the striker for his continued investment in youth football.

Mogaji, who assisted in distributing the boots, described Awoniyi as a committed partner in grassroots sports development, stressing the importance of supporting young players with the resources and opportunities to develop their talents.

He called for more individuals to invest in grassroots sports, noting that initiatives such as Awoniyi’s were essential to building a sustainable football development system in the state. He also expressed hope that the striker’s contributions would inspire other sports personalities to support young talents in their communities.

Speaking at the event, Kwara Kiddies League Chief Operating Officer Ibrahim Jatto thanked the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation on behalf of the competition’s more than 500 young players.

Jatto said the foundation had consistently supported the league over the years by providing playing kits, meals and cash rewards worth millions of naira for outstanding players.

He added that the latest donation would further encourage the youngsters, many of whom aspire to become professional footballers.

Jatto also highlighted the league’s efforts to improve players’ visibility through subscriptions to scouting and football analysis platforms Wyscout and Eyeball, which provide opportunities for their performances to reach a wider audience.

“With increased visibility through our league’s subscriptions on Wyscout and Eyeball, your continued support is helping create greater opportunities for these young talents,” he said.

Awoniyi, who serves as chairman of the Kwara Kiddies League, has continued to support grassroots football through initiatives designed to provide young players with the resources and opportunities to develop their potential.

His latest intervention adds to the foundation’s efforts to nurture emerging football talents in Kwara State and strengthen the development of young players.
