Egypt, Belgium discuss expanding scientific research cooperation
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa discussed expanding cooperation with Belgium in scientific research and innovation, particularly in applying research findings to industry.
Konsowa, who also serves as acting minister of culture, held talks with representatives of the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (BELSPO) during a visit to Belgium.
The meeting was attended by Egypt’s Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Ahmed Abu Zeid, and Egypt’s Cultural Attaché in France Chahinda Ezzat.
Konsowa stressed the need to connect scientific research with industrial and economic needs, turning research findings into practical applications and technological solutions.
During the talks, they also reviewed possible partnerships between universities, research centers, and industrial companies to encourage innovation, support technology transfer, and strengthen cooperation between researchers and businesses.
The meeting is part of Egypt’s efforts to expand international research partnerships and increase the use of scientific research in industrial and economic development.
