The Witcher 3 Remastered: How To Unlock Henry Cavill's Netflix Armor

The Witcher's adaptation on Netflix might have lost a lot of its momentum quite quickly, but it was nice to see the IP in that form, however brief its time at the top might have been. There was plenty to like about the show as well, and with a few changes, it could easily have been one of the standout fantasy releases for the long-haul.

One of the greatest areas of prowess on display was the overall aesthetic, which really did nail the dark and gritty tone that the books make infinitely obvious. If you did like what you saw, then it's possible to bring a little of those visuals across to the new remastered release, and all it requires is for you to complete a little quest.

The Witcher 3 Remastered has finally debuted, and while it does bring plenty of exciting visual updates for the modern audience, it also has new content for players to jump into. One of those is a brand new side quest entitled In the Eternal Fire's Shadow, which is both inspired by the show, and rewards a full set of Geralt's armor. Here's everything you need to know to complete it and get your hands on that precious gear.

Pick Up The Quest

As with every good quest, the most important part of the process is picking it up in the first place. To do so, head to the North-East island of Velen, with the closest marker being the Border Post near Novigrad. Head East out of the town and you'll hear a desperate man who, when spoken to, tasks Geralt with taking out a mysterious entity which he believes is spreading a plague.

Explore The Mine

Enter the mine and you'll quickly be faced with five deserter enemies that you'll need to kill. This shouldn't prove too much of an issue, and from there you'll want to head further into the man via the ledge on your right. You'll reach a platform which contains a note on the enemies you're about to face, as well as a torch and a Greater Glyph of Yrden.

Keep going until you come to a fork in the path where a voice will tell you to go right. Ignore it and proceed forwards instead until you get to a small wooden bridge, where you can activate your Witcher senses and discover a ruined brick wall. Break it and examine the bodies inside.

Turn around and head through the door with the Wolf School insignia, where you will find your first victim of the Scarlet Rot. Head further into the mine, grab the Forgotten Priest's Testament from the laboratory room, and proceed until you eventually come to a pit. From there, drop down and fight the enemies, before going up the ledge.

Break the door to the small room and collect the note, which then sets you up for the quests conclusion.

Free And Fight Reinald

You'll now have the information you need to make a potion known as Reinald's Philter. This will essentially be your control over how difficult the fight at the end is. Head further into the mine until you find trapped Reinald and free him using Aard. There are cutscenes here, but essentially giving him the potion will make your life more difficult, so use that as a guide to decide whether you want to.

After you defeat him for the first time, you'll have to directly take on the Red Miasma that infests his body. Dispatch that as well, then you'll need to talk to Reinald's spirit to send it away forever and complete the quest. Select the dialogue options "Not all priests are wicked" and

"Don't need a church to do good, priest," and you'll get the best ending.

From there, you will be able to find the upgraded diagrams of the Forgotten Wolf School Gear (as featured in the Netflix show) in Kaer Morhen.
