"Absorbing" British drama with Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory and Callum Turner coming to Netflix

A three-part drama series starring the late Helen McCrory and actor Callum Turner will soon be available to watch on Netflix.

Leaving, which was originally released in 2012 and broadcast on ITV, tells the story of 44-year-old married hotel manager Julie Ranmore McCrory) whose marriage has grown stale, and her affair with a much younger man.

Of course, Turner plays the role of her love interest, a depressed 24-year-old university graduate named Aaron who is struggling to find work.

The pair meet at Aaron's brother's wedding, which is being held at the four-star country hotel where Julie works.

After bonding at the wedding reception, Aaron ends up getting a job at the same hotel, and the duo embark on an intense, forbidden romance while Julie wrestles with her family responsibilities.

Leaving, which consists of three episodes, will be available to stream on Netflix from 26 September, and was previously described by one IMDb viewer as "utterly absorbing".

The year after Leaving aired, McCrory took on the role of Polly Gray in the hit TV series Peaky Blinders. Sadly, she passed away before the sixth and final season was released in early 2022.

The beloved actor died of breast cancer at her home in London on 16 April 2021, at the age of 52, and left behind an array of incredible acting performances.

Before playing Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders, McCrory portrayed Narcissa Malfoy in several of the Harry Potter films, including 2009's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

She also appeared in TV series, Anna Karenina, in 2000 and an episode of Doctor Who in 2010.

Meanwhile, Turner hadn't enjoyed any major roles before Leaving, but he's since starred in movies such as Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The Boys in the Boat, Eternity and One Night Only.

He's also set to appear in upcoming psychological horror film, Possession, alongside Margaret Qualley and Paul Dano.

Leaving will be available to stream on Netflix from 26 September.
