Dinesh Arora has stepped down on ethical grounds as treasurer of the All India Tennis Association’s (AITA) Interim Executive Committee, with the association’s president accepting his resignation with immediate effect.

The move came a day after Arora resigned as secretary general of the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), where allegations of financial irregularities had prompted six district affiliates to demand an independent inquiry.

AITA confirmed his departure in a statement, saying its president had accepted his resignation on ethical grounds.

“The same has been communicated to the Executive Committee and all concerned,” the statement said. A replacement will be appointed in accordance with the association’s rules.

The Interim Executive Committee has been functioning following the Delhi High Court’s intervention in AITA’s electoral process. Arora was elected treasurer in the 2024 elections.

His departure from both posts comes amid scrutiny of the Punjab tennis administration. While six district associations sought an independent probe into alleged financial irregularities, the PLTA had planned an independent audit of its accounts.
