Negri Sembilan PH reps yet to receive notice for Nov 26 sitting

SEREMBAN: All 11 Pakatan Harapan assemblymen in Negri Sembilan have yet to receive any notice or information regarding the upcoming state legislative assembly sitting, despite it being scheduled for Nov 26.
Opposition leader J. Arul Kumar said the notice should have been issued at least 28 days before the scheduled sitting date.
"The notice should have been sent 28 days before the state assembly sitting, which means on or before Oct 28 or 29.
"Until today, we have not received the notice or any information. Even if they send it in the next day or two, it would mean the sitting cannot be held on Nov 26 as scheduled by the state government, because it has already lapsed beyond the 28-day requirement.
"So, we do not know when the state assembly will be held," he said when contacted today.
The Nilai assemblyman said assembly notices are typically received around two months in advance due to required procedures, including submitting written and oral questions, and for the state government to assign the relevant executive council members to respond.
At the same time, he said answers must be obtained from the relevant government departments or agencies.
"All this involves a process that takes more than a month of preparation, which is why a 28-day notice is necessary.
"However, we have not received any notice to date, and nothing is recorded on the official e-Dewan portal. The state government's proposal to set it for Nov 26 is clearly unreasonable," he said.
Arul Kumar urged the state government to determine a confirmed date for the sitting and the tabling of the 2027 State Budget.
On Tuesday, Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said the state government was maintaining its original plan to hold the state assembly sitting on Nov 26, followed by the tabling of the 2027 State Budget the next day.
The Juasseh assemblyman said efforts were underway to seek the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir to officiate the sitting.
"God willing... if God permits, we will receive Tuanku's consent," he said after launching the Negeri Sembilan e-Tanah System Development Kick-Off.
