#SHOWBIZ: Michelle Yeoh pays tribute to 'extraordinary' Tun Dr Siti Hasmah

KUALA LUMPUR: Oscar-winner Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has paid a moving tribute to Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, remembering her as an extraordinary woman defined by grace, wisdom, and immense compassion.

Expressing her condolences to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family, the Ipoh-born Hollywood star took to Instagram to honour the late icon's legacy.

Yeoh highlighted how Dr Siti Hasmah's warmth touched hearts nationwide, describing the decades-long partnership between Dr Mahathir and his late wife as a true inspiration to all Malaysians.

"Deeply saddened by the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah. We send our heartfelt condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir and family," she wrote.

"Tun Dr Siti Hasmah was a truly remarkable woman — someone of incredible grace, intelligence, and warmth that resonated across the nation."

Offering words of comfort to the grieving family, Yeoh added: "The love and partnership you both shared was an inspiration to us all. We are grieving alongside you during this time of profound sadness. We wish you comfort and strength. May she rest in eternal peace."

Alongside her message, the actress shared a photograph of Dr Siti Hasmah playing the violin—a lifelong passion she often shared with the public.

Dr Siti Hasmah passed away on Monday at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur at the age of 100.
