The Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL) unveiled the jerseys for its second season at a launch event in New Delhi on Saturday, ahead of a 127-match tournament scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from November 25 to December 30, 2026. Former India cricketer Suresh Raina attended the event as chief guest. Actors Karishma Sharma and Shefali Bagga were also associated with the launch, which brought together representatives from the sporting and entertainment industries. The launch marks a milestone in the league's efforts to expand the reach of softball cricket and create a platform for players, teams, sponsors and sports enthusiasts across the country.
League seeks wider national presence
ISCL was founded by Dr. Gangadhar Raju. Its leadership includes B. H. Anil Kumar, chairman of the ISCL Board, and Sanjeev Singh, vice-chairman. Team owners representing Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh were also associated with the launch.
The president of ISCL Dr. Gangadhar Raju , said the second season would seek to strengthen the league's presence through organised competition and greater engagement with audiences and commercial partners.
“With 127 matches planned this season, our vision is to expand the sport's reach, create opportunities for players and bring together teams, partners and audiences from across the country,” the president said.
The league aims to develop a professionally organised competition that combines sporting participation with broader audience engagement.
Raina stresses role of sport in nurturing talent
Suresh Raina said sporting initiatives could help bring people together, encourage young talent and create opportunities beyond the playing field.
He expressed hope that the second season would provide players with a platform to demonstrate their abilities and encourage greater participation in softball cricket.
The tournament in Bengaluru is expected to bring together participating teams, players and other stakeholders as ISCL seeks to establish a wider national presence for the sport.
