KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) today clarified that it has no information regarding matters related to the Bumiputera equity ownership policy.

Miti said the matter falls under the purview of the Ministry of Economy.

“The ministry hopes that this explanation will help to clarify the ministry’s role on the matter so that the information conveyed to the public is accurate and clear,” it said in a statement today.

The statement was issued following a media statement by the Ministry of Education on Sept 21 regarding the standardisation of ownership requirements for private educational institutions under the ministry. — Bernama
