Barcelona captain Raphinha will miss the club’s next two matches against Getafe and Galatasaray after sustaining a hamstring injury while representing Brazil, coach Hansi Flick confirmed on Friday.

The 29-year-old suffered the setback during Brazil’s friendly in Australia, adding to his recurring muscular problems.

Flick described the injury as minor but insisted the club would not take unnecessary risks, particularly after the forward suffered three injuries last season.

“It’s not a big injury,” Flick said, confirming Raphinha would miss Saturday’s La Liga home fixture against Getafe and Tuesday’s Champions League clash in Istanbul.

The German manager also expressed frustration over the demanding international schedule, which has left Barcelona without one of its key attacking players.

Raphinha has been in remarkable form since being deployed as a centre-forward this season, scoring 14 goals in eight appearances across all competitions, making him Europe’s leading scorer.

However, injuries have repeatedly interrupted his career. He previously returned injured from Brazil’s March 2026 friendly against France in Boston and suffered another hamstring problem during the World Cup.

Barcelona also missed his presence towards the end of last season, particularly during its Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Despite the latest setback, Barcelona remains unbeaten in La Liga and leads the standings, five points ahead of Atletico Madrid.
