MANILA, Philippines — More Filipinos have fallen victim to cybercrimes in the second quarter of the year, according to a new survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The survey, conducted from June 20 to 29, found that eight percent of the respondents had either been victimized by or knew someone in their family who had fallen victim to cybercrimes such as online scams, hacking or cyberbullying.
It went up from the 5.8 percent recorded in a similar survey in March and was the highest since SWS first included cybercrimes in its crime victimization surveys in 2023.
