Pep Guardiola sends an open letter to Manchester City supporters

Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly thrown his support behind the club following the independent commission’s verdict on the Premier League’s financial-rule case.

Guardiola, who left City at the end of last season after a decade in charge, addressed supporters through social media on Wednesday, September 30. He posted a photograph with City chief executive Ferran Soriano alongside a message reaffirming his loyalty to the club.

“I want every single Man City fan to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this togethe. I love you all."

The message comes days after Manchester City were found guilty of the majority of the financial-rule breaches brought against them by the Premier League. The club has maintained its position that the process remains ongoing and is expected to appeal. No sporting sanctions have yet been announced.

Guardiola's intervention is significant because several of the allegations concern a period that overlaps with the early part of his City tenure. Despite leaving the managerial position, he remains a global ambassador for City Football Group
