The superhero genre is bigger than ever, and that is mostly thanks to the MCU and all of its decade-defining masterpieces, such as Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man. This catalog is almost entirely on film, with TV heroes being much less popular, even though the MCU has tried to delve into the realm of television originals.

No matter how hard TV tries, it will never catch up to the prowess of superhero movies, and that is proven by the sheer popularity of The Avengers. While TV heroes won’t be as popular, they can be stronger. That is why this list will highlight eight television superheroes that are way stronger than The Avengers. Based on aspects such as strength, abilities, known feats, hypothetical feats, and overall powers, these eight heavy hitters are some of the strongest characters in the genre. This list will compare these characters to the original six Avengers from the first movie.

8 Homelander

'The Boys' (2019–2026)

There are so many fantastic Marvel and DC shows, but the biggest besides these two is probably The Boys, which recently came to an end in 2026 to mixed reviews. It is hard to tell who is a hero and who isn’t, but the most powerful character in the series is undoubtedly Homelander (Anthony Starr). Originally human, he was raised to be the ultimate American hero, marketed as the savior of the country, but as his ambitions grew, so did his danger and influence, leaving him as the strongest superhero in the world.

Some fans may say that Homelander isn’t a superhero, and while he doesn’t embody what they should be, he is technically a superhero in his own universe. There is a reason why Homelander is last on this list, and that is because it might actually be difficult for him to take everyone down. The majority of the team will have a difficult time hurting him, but the real challenge comes down to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). In unison and with Homelander’s lack of professional combat, a coordinated attack could be more than enough. Still, his powers are nothing to laugh at, and even with his arrogance, he still has a decent chance.

7 All Might

'My Hero Academia' (2016–2025)

All Might Standing in the Sun in My Hero Academia Season 1 Image via Crunchyroll

Besides superheroes, the next biggest power-scaling community comes from anime, especially since it is home to some powerful characters, like All Might from My Hero Academia. In a world where 70% of people have superpowers, All Might is the strongest, globally known as the number one hero in the world. His quirk, One For All, allows him to pass down his strength to a successor, but it also means he possesses the powers of his former predecessors, giving him overwhelming power and strength that barely any villain can handle.

For the sake of argument, this list will use All Might during his prime rather than his weakened state later in the series. As an anime show with no bad episodes, All Might is the standout of the series, highlighting his nature of good and always wanting to do the right thing. This is matched by his incredible strength, which creates devastating punches that would eviscerate half of the Avengers in one punch. He is not a street-level hero, but a big-picture force that only the best of the best can face; even then, All Might in his prime is arguably stronger than Hulk and Thor.

6 Supergirl

'Supergirl' (2015–2021), 'The Flash' (2014–2023), and more

Superman is usually said to be stronger than the Avengers, and while he does star in some shows, so does his cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), known as Supergirl. The CW universe had its ups and downs, but many fans appreciated this version of Supergirl and her strength. Sent to Earth to protect Kal-El, she was caught in the Phantom Zone, delaying her arrival. Stepping out from her cousin's shadow, she must learn to master her abilities and protect National City against the constant threats it seems to be facing.

With planetary-scale strength, invulnerability, heat vision, and faster-than-light flight, Supergirl is a powerhouse under a yellow sun, which is naturally what she would fight the Avengers under. She holds back less than her Boy Scout cousin, and that lack of restraint brings out the unmatched speed and striking force that will put the Avengers at a loss. Even without kryptonite, her feats simply put her above this set of Marvel heroes.

5 Allen the Alien

'Invincible' (2021–Present)

Allen the Alien in flying in space 'Invincible' Image via Prime Video

One of the largest superhero television shows outside of Marvel or DC is Invincible, which is arguably more popular than any shows from the other two. While there are plenty of strong villains, there is one clear hero who is the strongest, and that is Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen). Genetically engineered to be the species' ultimate weapon, he is an evaluation officer who travels from galaxy to galaxy testing the strength of local heroes to see if they are actually up to the task.

The Avengers are no stranger to alien threats, but they haven’t faced anything like Allen before. His clear advantage comes in the form of his reactive biology, which means every time he is close to death, he regenerates and gets stronger in all base stats. This will continue until he has matched his opponent, and compared to this group of heroes, it shouldn’t take too many evolutions to be able to beat them, proving that he is one of the strongest characters in Invincible.

Collider Exclusive · 8 Questions · 2 Minutes What MCU Superpower Would You Have? Strength · Spider-Sense · Invisibility · Chaos Magic

Eight honest questions about how you actually are: your first instinct when things go wrong, what your friends rely on you for, how you handle stress, what your real flaw is. Answer them and we will tell you which power you would wake up with. The best ones in the MCU are never random, because they always say something about the person who got them.

💪Super Strength(Hulk)

🕸️Spider-Sense(Spider-Man)

🫧Invisibility(Fantastic Four)

🔮Chaos Magic(Scarlet Witch)

01

What is your first instinct when something goes wrong? Go with the honest answer rather than the heroic one.

02

How do you handle being the centre of attention? Every hero on this list answers this differently.

03

What do your friends rely on you for? They would all name the same thing about you.

04

How do you deal with stress? Nobody picks the healthy one, and that is fine.

05

What is your actual flaw? The useful thing here is picking the true one.

06

What kind of help do you actually give people? Everybody has one default, whatever the situation is.

07

How do you want strangers to see you? Answer for the first ten minutes, not the first year.

08

What would you want a superpower for? Eight questions in, this is the one that picks your power.

The Gift Is Given Your Power Is…

Four powers, and four completely different kinds of person behind them. Here is what you would wake up with, what it would cost you, and why the MCU keeps handing it to somebody exactly like you.

Super Strength

You get the power that is really about taking the hit so that nobody else has to. Strength in the MCU always lands on people who were already carrying too much, which is exactly why it suits you.

  • Your instinct is to put yourself between the problem and the people, and you do it before anybody has thought to ask.
  • Bruce Banner is the most interesting version of this because his story was never about lifting things, it was about control.
  • The catch with strength is that people stop checking whether you are alright, since you have made a habit of looking like you always are.
  • You would be the one everybody calls at two in the morning, and you would answer every single time.

Spider-Sense

You get the power that never switches off. Spider-sense is a gift and a nervous system on permanent alert, and the people who get it in these films are always the ones who were already worrying about everybody.

  • You read a situation faster than you can explain it, and you are usually right in a way you cannot show your working for.
  • Peter Parker is the template because he takes on more than he can hold and then apologises for not holding it well enough.
  • Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrived in July 2026 and put him back to being local, broke and permanently on call.
  • The cost here is real, since a power that warns you about everything also means you are never quite off duty.

Invisibility

You get the quietest power in the building, and quietly the most useful. Invisibility comes with force fields for a reason, because the people who prefer not to be seen are usually the ones holding a shield around everybody else.

  • You notice everything, largely because you spend more time observing a room than performing in it.
  • Sue Storm is the strongest member of her team and the least interested in anybody saying so, which is very much your energy.
  • The Fantastic Four: First Steps finally gave the family a proper MCU home in 2025 and made her the centre of it.
  • Your risk is that being unseen becomes a habit rather than a choice, and the people who love you would like a look in.

Chaos Magic

You get the biggest and least comfortable power on the list, the one that runs directly on feeling. Chaos magic is not really a superpower in the MCU so much as an emotional state with consequences attached.

  • You feel things at a volume other people do not, and you have spent years managing that rather than being managed by it.
  • Wanda is the best written character Marvel has, precisely because her power and her grief turned out to be the same thing.
  • WandaVision remains the high point of Marvel television, and it works because the spectacle is only ever a symptom.
  • The warning attached to this one is simple. A power that answers to how you feel is only ever as steady as you are.

4 Wanda Maximoff

'WandaVision' (2021), 'What If...?' (2021–2024)

This list has almost exclusively consisted of non-Marvel characters, but one hero that started in her own TV show was Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), also known as Scarlet Witch. After an experiment involving the Mind Stone, she became an all-powerful sorceress whose magical abilities are second to none. She further showcased this in WandaVision when she kept an entire town hostage with her magic, blurring the lines between hero and villain.

Technically, she is a member of the Avengers, just not the original one, and since she stars in a TV show, she is eligible for this list. Wanda can rewrite the fabric of reality, neutralizing any physical threat the Avengers pose against her. Thor and Hulk are strong, and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) is smart, but that combined fighting force is nothing in the face of overwhelming magical abilities that can destroy or create worlds.

3 Viktor Hargreeves

'The Umbrella Academy' (2019–2024)

Plenty of TV shows tried to cash in on the massive Marvel hype, and some succeeded, with The Umbrella Academy being one of the better results, even if the ending was disappointing. The entire Umbrella Academy team is powerful, but Viktor Hargreeves (Elliot Page) is by far the strongest. Raised by an eccentric billionaire, their powers were kept hidden since they were so powerful. When this is discovered, Viktor becomes the cause of multiple world-ending events, using their kinetic energy to trigger the apocalypse.

The Avengers have dealt with world-ending threats before, but not on this scale, with Viktor’s powers being the direct cause of the apocalypse. This raw destructive power is on a planetary scale that not even a god or a Hulk can compete with. Viktor has remarkable feats, such as vaporizing half of the moon, and while the Avengers are strong, they aren’t that powerful. One shockwave could wipe out a city, instantly taking care of the Avengers, with the stronger members maybe taking a few more hits.

2 Saitama

'One-Punch Man' (2015–Present)

The superhero genre isn’t as popular in Japan as in America, but there are still some fantastic hero anime, like One Punch Man. This series is home to plenty of heroes stronger than the Avengers, but one operates on a different level, and that is Saitama. As the titular protagonist, he gained his strength through a strict regimen of 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometre run. This is a great way to get in shape, but it doesn’t explain how it made him able to level cities with a sneeze. Either way, he uses his newfound power to save the world from monsters and aliens.

One Punch Man and Marvel deal with strength in very different ways, with the former mainly being a comedic series, meaning it can do anything it wants as long as it's funny. This gag logic trumps anything the Avengers can do, with Saitama’s whole shtick being able to defeat everyone in one punch, and the Avengers will be no different. It is an anime with heavy plot armor that heavily favors the funny, and Saitama’s gimmick is also hilarious, but also deadly, proven by his ability to take down planet-level threats with ease.

1 Ben Tennyson

'Ben 10' (2005–2008), 'Ben 10: Alien Force' (2008–2010), and more

Alien X from Ben 10 Image via Cartoon Network

Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes; some are towering symbols of peace, and others are small Midwestern brats. Ben 10 is a classic cartoon, and its titular protagonist can be considered a superhero of immense strength. What started as a summer road trip turned into a constant fight against evil after Ben discovered a device that can turn him into a variety of aliens, including some remarkably powerful beings.

The Avengers are a great mix of stealthy, powerful, fast, intelligent, and magical, but even with every single MCU superhero, they can’t defeat Ben Tennyson, mainly because of one transformation. Alien X is an omnipotent creature that is capable of surviving the destruction of a universe and can even create a new one from thought. This level of cosmic prowess is on a level that not many other fictional characters can handle, and certainly not the Avengers, proving why he is one of the strongest superheroes of all time.
