Police reveal real identity of ‘man in ginger wig’ sought after London pub shooting

Police have launched a manhunt to trace a man captured on CCTV wearing a bright orange wig who they “urgently” want to speak to following a fatal shooting in London.
Detectives are searching for 35-year-old Abreham Woldegiworgis after a murder probe was launched into the fatal shooting of Erdem Mustafa, 35, at a pub in Enfield earlier this month.
Police have now released “before” and “after images of Woldegiworgis, who they said is believed to have changed his appearance “significantly” since the night of the incident.
Scotland Yard said they believe Woldegiworgis was captured in footage taken near the pub on the night of the incident wearing a bright orange wig and a beanie hat. The public have been urged not to approach him.
He is understood to have links to the Enfield, Haringey and Brixton areas.
In the “before” image released by police, Woldegiworgis is seen with long dreadlocks and facial hair. In a series of “after” images he appears clean shaven and with a buzzcut.

The fresh appeal comes after a 23-year-old man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. He remains in police custody.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Hertford Road at around 9:30pm on 19 October. Medics treated Mr Mustafa for gunshot wounds, but he was sadly later pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: “We remain committed to securing justice for Erdem as our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this unimaginably hard time.

“While I am pleased my team have made an arrest, our work continues at pace to investigate the full circumstances around Erdem’s murder. We are now releasing the details and images of a man we urgently need to speak to in connection with the incident.
“We are carrying out a number of enquiries to trace him but are also asking for the public’s help. If you recognise him or have any information on his whereabouts please come forward.
“We are still appealing for anyone with wider information about the shooting, including any CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to also contact us.”
