Two games, two victories, and a growing sense of belief. NorthEast United FC has made a strong start to the season, and its first away fixture presents an opportunity to carry that momentum beyond the home turf.
The Highlanders opened their campaign with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant, courtesy of Jithin MS’s stoppage-time winner. They followed it up with a commanding 4-1 win against Kerala Blasters FC, with Alaaeddine Ajaraie scoring twice, Antonio Moyano finding the net before half-time, and Aman CK completing the scoring after coming off the bench.
The challenge now is to take that spirit on the road.
Odisha FC, on the other hand, began its campaign with a 1-2 defeat to Punjab FC before earning a 1-1 draw against Inter Kashi. NorthEast United’s coach Juan Pedro Benali has urged his players not to underestimate the Juggernauts, recalling their victory over the Highlanders last season.
“They are a team that plays good football. They know what they are doing, and they follow a clear pattern of play,” Benali said. “Every game is a new story, with new tactics, new circumstances, a new focus, and a new mentality.”

Recent meetings have delivered contrasting results, including Odisha’s 4-1 victory over the Highlanders in March 2026, a 2-2 draw in February 2025, and NorthEast United’s 3-2 win in November 2024.
The Highlanders have set up a fortress in Guwahati. On Saturday, it will look to set up another on the road against Odisha FC., at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
