Planning a family day out at Cape Town’s Two Oceans Aquarium? Visitors can expect to pay R280 for a standard adult ticket, while children, students and pensioners qualify for cheaper rates.

Situated at the V&A Waterfront, the Two Oceans Aquarium showcases marine life from South Africa’s Atlantic and Indian Ocean coastlines and is open 365 days of the year.

Two Oceans Aquarium ticket prices

The current standard admission prices are:

  • Adults: R280
  • Children aged 14 to 17: R210
  • Children aged 4 to 13: R130
  • Children under four: Free
  • South African students: R210
  • South African pensioners: R210

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Students and pensioners need to provide valid identification to qualify for the discounted rate.

Save with the After 3 Special

Visitors looking for a cheaper afternoon outing can take advantage of the Aquarium’s After 3 Special during South African school terms.

Tickets purchased at the on-site ticket office after 15:00 cost:

  • Adults: R210
  • Children aged 14 to 17: R158
  • Children aged 4 to 13: R97
  • Children under four: Free

The discounted tickets are valid from 15:00 until closing on the day of purchase and cannot be bought online or in advance.

The aquarium is open daily from 09:30 to 18:00.

In addition, the Two Oceans Aquarium’s special birthday offer has been extended to your entire birthday month.

South Africans can now enjoy complimentary admission to the Two Oceans Aquarium on any (one) day throughout their birthday month.

Aquarium membership prices

For visitors who plan to return regularly, an annual membership could offer better value.

Membership provides a year of unlimited access to the Two Oceans Aquarium, as well as additional benefits including exclusive events and bespoke discounts. Memberships are non-refundable.

South African students must present a valid student card when activating their membership.

Pensioners must be 65 or older, and the aquarium may request identification when the membership is activated.

For regular visitors, the membership can quickly pay for itself. An adult membership costs R670, meaning it is equivalent to fewer than three standard adult visits.

The Two Oceans Aquarium remains a popular Cape Town attraction, with visitors able to see penguins, sharks, turtles, jellyfish and the iconic kelp forest, among other marine life.
