NCRPO deploys 73 motorcycles to boost 911 emergency response

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed 73 additional police motorcycles across Metro Manila to strengthen its response to emergency calls through the 911 hotline.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NCRPO said the deployment is intended to help police responders reach emergency situations quickly despite heavy traffic and congested roads.

“Every second matters during an emergency. These additional motorcycles will give our responders greater mobility and allow them to reach people in distress as quickly as possible,” NCRPO officer-in-charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano said.

“When the public calls 911, we want our response to be fast, coordinated, and reliable. These motorcycles will help us navigate traffic and bring police assistance closer to the community,” he added.

The 73 motorcycles were distributed among selected police offices in the Metro Manila:

• Manila - 18
• Pasay - 18
• Quezon City - 13
• Taguig - 14
• Pasig - 10

Abrahano said the motorcycles will complement existing police response vehicles and personnel when responding to urgent calls through the 911 emergency hotline.

He directed police commanders to position motorcycle responders in strategic areas where they can immediately respond to emergency calls.

“We ask the public to help us help them. When calling 911, stay calm, provide the correct details, and follow the instructions of our emergency responders,” the NCRPO head said. —VAL, GMA News
