Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal have decided to give their relationship another chance, weeks after calling off their engagement.Akriti confirmed their reunion through an Instagram statement on Monday, admitting that other people’s opinions had influenced her decision to end the relationship. In a post titled "A personal clarification", Akriti said she had allowed people close to her to influence how she viewed Shaw and their relationship.
“When I called off our engagement, I let the opinions of people close to me – who seemed to know our relationship better than we did – influence how I saw my fiancee and our relationship,” she wrote.“I feel I was misguided, and I made a decision without giving us the honest conversation we deserved.”Akriti said the two have since had honest conversations, understood each other better and decided to reunite. She also took responsibility for the hurt caused by her earlier decision and asked people to respect their choice.
“Together, we are enough for each other, and we don't need anyone else,” she wrote. Shaw later shared her statement on his Instagram story.
Engagement called off in September
Shaw and Akriti announced their engagement in March 2026, sharing pictures of the proposal on social media.
However, in September, Akriti revealed that they had decided to part ways, citing different goals and circumstances. Her latest statement confirms that they have reconciled, although neither has publicly explained all the details behind their separation and reunion.
Away from his personal life, Shaw is also working to revive his cricket career. The 26-year-old rose to prominence after captaining India to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2018 and scoring a century on his Test debut against the West Indies later that year.
However, injuries and inconsistent performances have kept him away from the national team.He moved from Mumbai to Maharashtra ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in search of a fresh start and scored 222 against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy last season.Shaw has begun the 2026-27 domestic season positively, scoring 70 off 73 balls for Maharashtra against Services in New Delhi on Sunday.
