SINGAPORE, Oct 9 — McDonald’s Singapore’s collaboration with G-Dragon of K-pop group BigBang might be the hottest thing on the block now.

Exclusive Peaceminusone merchandise — including a tote bag, pin set and hat — was launched for sale yesterday at 11am, drawing long queues at several locations in the early morning.

The vintage hat was evidently the most coveted item: it is available to MyM Members at S$9.90 (RM32) with a minimum spend of S$10, and only sold at 10 McDonald’s outlets.

With each selected store having only 900 quantities on a first-come, first-served basis, eager fans turned up in droves.

According to Shin Min Daily News, over 60 people were waiting outside the McDonald’s outlet at Funan on Thursday morning. The first person began queueing at 9am.

One of them, Huang Yiwen (transliteration), was seen holding a laptop and working. She told Shin Min she and her daughter are big fans of G-Dragon, and working remotely allowed her to join the queue.

Shutters temporarily deployed at Canberra outlet

Meanwhile, a mallgoer at Canberra Plaza provided the Chinese publication with a photograph showing the drawn shutters of the McDonald’s outlet there, which was also offering the vintage hat.

The fast-food restaurant appeared to be full of people waiting for their orders.

It is believed that the shutters were temporarily deployed to better manage the crowd, reported Shin Min.

Fans still on the look-out for the tote bag and pin set may check the McDonald’s app to view where it is still available for purchase, while stocks last.

For every purchase of a Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Burger (Single and Double) meal, fans can also receive one mystery photocard from a total of three designs.

G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, will be performing at the National Stadium with fellow members Taeyang and Daesung for their October 17 and 18 concerts. — AsiaOne
