The summer window has been and gone, but Premier League clubs remain active in the transfer market with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham still exploring potential deals ahead of January. Arsenal have announced an agreement to sign Andria Bartishvili - who has been dubbed as the next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - and remain interested in Kenan Yildiz and Eli Junior Kroupi, amid links with Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha.

Arsenal get Alvarez boost

Barcelona appear to have moved on from Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

According to talkSPORT, the LaLiga champions are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Erling Haaland as alternatives to the Argentina international.

This could be good news for Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of Alvarez.

Lens sack Sage replacement

Lens have sacked Dino Toppmoller, a matter of months after he replaced Pierre Sage as the club’s head coach.

As first reported by L’Equipe, Toppmoller fell out with the board despite his reasonable start to life in Ligue 1, where he has taken four points from four matches.

It is said the club moved to sack his trusted assistant Nelson Morgado, a move which Toppmoller could not accept. He stood by his friend and the pair will depart together.

Palace frustration

Steve Parish and Pierre Sage are at odds over the Crystal Palace boss’ handline of Jaydee Canvot.

The Frenchman made clear his move not to use the young centre-back in the victory over Fulham was a sporting call, which has not gone down well upstairs.

Per the Daily Mail, Parish and other Palace executives consider Canvot a keystone member of the Eagles’ project and were disappointed to see him left out.

Newcastle are planning to open talks with Dan Burn regarding a new contract.

Per Football Insider, the Magpies hope their captain will extend his deal despite the expectation he will take on a lesser role on the pitch.

It is thought the 34-year-old’s leadership will be invaluable to Newcastle’s young squad.

Man Utd will fight to keep JJ Gabriel after shock transfer request

Manchester United believe they can convince 15-year-old wonderkid JJ Gabriel to stay at the club despite his shock demand to stay.

Standard Sport understands United have been taken aback by Gabriel’s decision, and had planned to include the teenage sensation in their first-team matchday squad for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Brighton. It remains to be seen if those plans will now change.

Gabriel, who has been has at United since he was 11, has asked the club to cancel his registration so he can become a free agent.

United are able to challenge Gabriel’s request, while Premier League rules state that all parties - the club, player and their parent or carer - must agree to the cancellation for it to be valid.

Arsenal great begins work as Senegal head coach

Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira says he is “honoured and proud” to have been chosen as the new manager of Senegal.

The former Gunners midfielder will replace Pape Thiaw as the helm after the Lions of Teranga bowed out of the World Cup at the last-32 stage.

Writing on Instagram about his new role, Vieira said: “(I am) honoured and proud to join Senegal as selector for the national team A.

“I thank the federation Senegalese Football Team for their trust. I'm looking forward to meeting the group and starting work together on the next steps.”

The 50-year-old, who was famously part of the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ team which went through the 2003/04 Premier League season unbeaten, will speak more about his appointment when he is officially presented in Dakar on Friday.

Liverpool plot January move for Chelsea target

Liverpool are planning a January move for a highly rated Chelsea target Lamine Camara.

According to journalist David Lynch, the Reds are considering a £60m move for the Monaco star.

Chelsea have also been monitoring the player and could provide competition for Liverpool if the interest develops into a formal pursuit. The Blues are understood to regard him as a long-term option for their squad.

'The truth' about Richarlison's collapsed move to Vasco de Gama

There has been further reporting regarding Richarlison failed move to Vasco da Gama.

Despite Tottenham being prepared to let the forward leave, an exit to Brazil collapsed on deadline day last Friday.

According to UOL journalist Bruno Braz, Vasco were willing to structure a permanent deal that would have allowed Richarlison to return abroad in January. The Brazilian club also offered a clause giving him an exit route after just a few months, while Tottenham were reportedly satisfied with the financial arrangement.

However, Richarlison remained unwilling to accept a permanent transfer. His preferred solution was to terminate his Tottenham contract and then join Vasco until the end of the year before assessing his options in January.

Incoming Tottenham sporting director may have first target

Tottenham’s expected appointment of Piero Ausilio could have an impact on Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari.

According to Sport Witness, Ausilio is closing in on a move to Tottenham after more than 20 years at Inter, where he worked closely with Roberto De Zerbi. His departure has already led Inter to promote Dario Baccin as their new sporting director.

Baccin is keen to make an immediate impact in his new role and has identified Ayari as a potential target. The Brighton midfielder’s contract runs until 2027, making his situation particularly attractive to the Italian club.

The report also suggests that Ayari could have appealed to Ausilio himself.

Arsenal face Noni Madueke decision ahead of January

Arsenal could face a difficult decision over Noni Madueke’s future in January, with two major European clubs reportedly monitoring the winger.

According to CaughtOffside, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are considering moves for Madueke after his limited playing time this season. A loan deal, potentially including an option to buy, is viewed as realistic.

No formal negotiations have taken place yet, but Atletico are understood to see Madueke as a player who could add pace and directness to their attack. Juventus are also keeping tabs on the England international ahead of the winter window.

Arsenal will therefore have to decide whether to keep Madueke and push for greater involvement under Mikel Arteta or consider allowing him to leave on loan. The winger remains under long-term contract, meaning the Gunners hold a strong position should either club make a formal approach.
