All 20 clubs in the Euromatch–NPFL, Nigeria’s top-flight league, on Friday shared the first tranche of the title sponsorship fee in Abuja, Completesports.com reports.

Dr Ayo Abdulrahman, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NPFL, confirmed that the initial sponsorship deal is worth $7.5 million over three years — $2.5 million annually — contrary to earlier reports suggesting that the sponsorship deal was in the region of $1 million.

Euromatch–NPFL COO Speaks On Money Sharing

The COO said the Euromatch–NPFL 2026/2027 clubs have received the percentage due to them from the money already received by the league, explaining that the full annual sponsorship payment has not yet been received by the league body.

“The tranches that have been received, the percentage due to the clubs has been paid to the clubs,” Dr Abdulrahman said.

“But we haven’t yet received all the amount for the year,” the Euromatch–NPFL COO explained.

Three-Year Sponsorship Deal Explained

“This clarification is very important: $7.5m is the total three-year sponsorship package, not the actual money already received by the NPFL or its clubs,” he further said before breaking down the entire figure.

“$7.5m is the total sum for the three-year deal. $2.5m is the amount meant for each of the three years of sponsorship, while the first tranche received by the NPFL has already been shared with the clubs based on their agreed percentage.”
