D’Aversa new favourite for Venezia job if Stroppa is fired

Roberto D’Aversa is now tipped to take the Venezia job if Giovanni Stroppa is fired, after former Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur coach Igor Tudor was linked.
There have already been two sackings in Serie A after just four rounds, with Fiorentina dismissing Fabio Grosso to bring back Paolo Vanoli, and Bologna appointing Raffaele Palladino to replace Domenico Tedesco.
D’Aversa waiting for Venezia call
Venezia are likely to be the next to pull the plug, as Stroppa is hanging by a thread after failing to pick up a single point in the opening four Serie A games.
The matter could come to a head after hosting high-flying Lazio on Saturday at 19.45 UK time (20.45 CEST).
Tudor had been mentioned as a likely candidate to replace Stroppa, but a new name is now emerging to take over the Lagunari.
Calciomercato suggest D’Aversa is the favourite, being more accustomed to handling teams in relegation trouble.
The 51-year-old’s most recent adventure was at Torino, steering them to mid-table safety from February 2026 to the end of that season.
He previously worked on the benches of clubs like Empoli, Lecce, Sampdoria and Parma.
