Greyton’s only fuel station reopens after major upgrade

Motorists travelling to or through Greyton in the Western Cape can once again refuel in the town after its only fuel station reopened following a major upgrade.

Astron Energy Greyton has confirmed that it is open for business, marking an important milestone after an extensive refurbishment that saw the station temporarily close for almost two months.

The station closed on 20 July to allow for a full site upgrade and its conversion from Engen to Astron Energy.

The work included the replacement of underground fuel tanks, tank integrity testing, the installation of new fuel dispensers, resurfacing of the forecourt and various safety and environmental compliance upgrades.

The temporary closure meant motorists had to make alternative refuelling arrangements while the work was under way.

Astron Energy Greyton is open

Management has now confirmed that the station is trading again while the rebranding process continues.

In a message to customers, Astron Energy Greyton said: “We are pleased to announce that we are OPEN today!”

The station thanked the local community for its patience and understanding during the transition.

“Running a small, local service station relies heavily on the community we serve,” management said.

The station highlighted the importance of local motorists, saying every fuel purchase or visit to the shop helps support the business, local jobs and the availability of a reliable fuel stop in Greyton.

A welcome return for motorists

The reopening will come as welcome news for residents and motorists travelling through the Western Cape town, particularly after the lengthy closure.

Management and staff encouraged customers to visit the station and support the business as the rebranding process continues.

“Your continued support truly keeps us moving forward,” the team said.

The station’s OK Minimark, which remained open during the fuel station closure, also continues to serve customers.
