Coronation Street's Jodie regains upper hand with shocking threat

Translate

Jodie Ramsey regained her upper hand in tonight's episode of Coronation Street, following yesterday's shocking scenes in which she was shot, as the villain issued a chilling threat to David and Shona Platt.

In yesterday's special Jodie episode, which centred on the Platt family, Jodie tried to cosy up to David after getting Shona to move out.

After dressing up and cooking David a fancy meal, she piled on the affection, telling him they should be together.

When David told Jodie he couldn't stop thinking about her after their accidental kiss, it seemed Jodie's schemes were working in her favour.

However, when Shona returned home, she and David told Jodie that it had all been a ruse to make her admit what she had been doing.

An angry Jodie drew her gun, and a scuffle ensued between her and Shona. When Shona attempted to wrestle the gun from Jodie, it went off, and Jodie was shot in the stomach.

Picking up where the episode left off, tonight's episode began with David and Shona panicking as they phoned an ambulance.

David lied and told them they didn't know who shot Jodie, saying: "No. There's no one. We didn't see who it was. We heard the shot and then when we came in they'd already gone."

At the hospital, David and Shona were told that Jodie was going into surgery, but that she was lucky and the bullet had missed any major organs.

In the final scene, Shona and David visited Jodie in hospital, where Jodie accused Shona of trying to kill her. Shona said she thought the gun was fake and told Jodie that they had said they didn't see who shot her and that they arrived after.

During their conversation, Jodie said: "I either go along with that, and if you don't do what I want, then I can just say you blackmailed me into keeping quiet."

She threatened to tell the truth and send Shona to prison, while questioning whether anyone saw David get rid of the gun.

"You don't control this. I do. I decide what happens from now on," she said as Lisa entered the room to talk to her.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
