Binge-worthy 10-part crime drama with a "charismatic" lead star is now streaming on Channel 4

Crime drama series Anna Pigeon has landed for free on Channel 4 in the UK. Originally debuting in its native America and Canada back in August, the show is based on the book series of the same name by Nevada Barr.
The story follows the titular character, who after a devastating loss turns her back on the city slicker life to become a National Park Service park ranger, and ends up solving crimes in the park grounds.
Following its debut earlier this month on U&Drama, all 10 episodes of Anna Pigeon (also dubbed Anna Pigeon Mysteries) are streaming on Channel 4, which is available for free with ads.

The series from Morwyn Brebner features Bates Motel's Tracy Spiridakos as Pigeon, as well as Reservation Dogs' Paulina Alexis, Star Trek: Discovery's Ronnie Rowe Jr, and Ghosts US' Crystle Lightning.
TheWrap praised "charismatic" Spiridakos, adding in their review: "While the crime drama isn’t must-see watercooler television, the show bops along with a pleasing rhythm, modest plot puzzles and a jaunty heroine."
TVBrittanyF.com also praised the actors "star turn", as well as the "efficient storytelling" that has "serious bite", while RogerEbert.com suggested the show will "leave you satisfied".
"It isn’t a challenging show – it works best if you don’t think too much about it. But it is a pleasant one," the latter added.

However, TVLine was less praiseworthy, writing in their verdict: "It tries too hard to fit itself into a cookie-cutter crime procedural format, piling on the clichés and tropes and throwing plausibility out the window, and it ends up feeling less than satisfying as a result – no matter how beautiful those mountains look."
"Despite an absolutely breathtaking backdrop and a stellar lead performance, Anna Pigeon feels like a dry, monotonous rehashing of Netflix’s Virgin River," added Variety.
Anna Pigeon is streaming now on Channel 4.
