Shuhaily: Public support gives me strength to face court proceedings

SEPANG: Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has thanked the public for their prayers and messages of support ahead of his court proceedings today.
He said the encouragement from people across all walks of life meant a great deal to him as he faced the legal process.
"I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me and offered prayers and messages of support.
"That is what has given me the strength and confidence to continue with these legal proceedings," he told a brief press conference at the lobby of the Sepang magistrate's court complex this morning.
Shuhaily said he would leave it to the court to conduct the legal proceedings in accordance with due process.
He also said this would be his final press conference concerning the case.
"This is my last press conference regarding these legal proceedings. Once the court proceedings are over, my lawyer will speak on my behalf," he said.
Earlier, Shuhaily, 54, arrived at the court complex around 7.30am wearing a suit and was later seen having breakfast at the canteen.
Port Klang MCBA commander Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal was also present to show his support.
Security was tightened at the court complex, with an increased presence of police and Rela personnel.
