Ruto Says Kenyans Want Development Agenda, Not Tribal Politics

Translate

President William Ruto has said Kenyans want leaders to focus on development plans and clear policies rather than ethnic politics, hatred and division.

The President maintained that the country’s transformation would depend on leaders presenting concrete agendas and practical solutions to the challenges facing citizens.

In a statement, Ruto criticised his political competitors, accusing them of relying on ethnic arithmetic and spreading hatred instead of presenting clear plans for the country.

“For the avoidance of doubt, our competitors have no plan or vision for the Republic of Kenya—all they offer is tribal arithmetic and the spread of hatred between communities and individuals,” he said.

Ruto described politics based on ethnicity, envy and exclusion as outdated, challenging his opponents to develop policy proposals and compete on the basis of their agendas.

“I want to tell them directly that such politics is primitive and outdated. If you want to compete with us, develop a plan, craft an agenda, work for transformation, and let us meet at the ballot box,” the President stated.

He expressed confidence that Kenyan voters could distinguish between leaders offering development-focused policies and those relying on divisive political rhetoric.

“The people of Kenya are discerning and know exactly what to choose,” Ruto said.
