The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday that ticket applications for the 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup have crossed 1.5 crore within 12 days of the ballot opening on October 1.
According to the ICC, fans from 142 countries have submitted 44,23,417 ballot registrations, covering 1,50,83,752 tickets. The demand has increased considerably since applications crossed the one-million mark earlier this month.
The 50-over tournament, scheduled from October 2 to November 21, 2027, will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, marking the competition’s return to Africa after 24 years.

The ticket ballot will remain open until November 21, 2026, exactly a year before the final at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Registration is free, with successful applicants selected through a random ballot where demand exceeds availability.
ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta attributed the response to the tournament’s global popularity and the appeal of Africa as a host destination.
