PARIS, Sept 18 — Rockstar Games unveiled six tracks from the soundtrack of the video game Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday, including songs by American rapper Travis Scott and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

Set for release on November 19, the same day as the video game blockbuster comes out, the GTA VI soundtrack will include a total of 34 previously unreleased tracks, six of which are already available on streaming platforms, the American studio said.

Among them are RHYNO by Travis Scott, produced by Frenchman Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (formerly of Daft Punk), a cover of Jimmy Reed’s blues classic Bright Lights, Big City by Keith Richards and Last Thing You Need by American singer Morgan Wallen.

At the end of August, Rockstar released an extended preview of the game in advance on Netflix via a 26-minute video showcasing new footage and details about the storyline, as a prelude to a global marketing campaign.

Posted on YouTube a few hours later, the video has been viewed nearly 28 million times.

The sixth instalment in the flagship series has been awaited by players around the world for more than 13 years, since the release of GTA V, the second best-selling game in the history of the industry.

American publisher Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, described the level of preorders as “exceptional” in early August, without disclosing any figures. — AFP
