Lisa Ling Signs With CAA

Translate

Lisa Ling, the journalist, producer and author who has logged stints at Channel One, ABC, CNN and CBS News, has tapped CAA to represent her in a variety of fields.

Ling, who recently worked as a contributor at CBS News, is known for her work hosting documentary-journalism programs ranging from National Geographic’s “Explorer” to CNN’s “This Is Life.” She also spent time as one of the co-hosts at ABC’s daytime show “The View,” and hosted and executive-produced “Our America” for the Oprah Winfrey Network, now part of Skydance.

Ling has worked as a journalist from a young age, starting first as a teenager for “Scratch,” a nationally syndicated TV program aimed at teens, and then for Channel One, a video-news report aimed at schoolchildren. She traveled abroad and covered war outbreaks in different parts of the world. She previously had a production deal with HBO that resulted in series such as “Take Out,” a look at the world of Asian-American cuisine.

Her books include titles such as “Mother, Sister, Daughter, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood,” and “Somewhere Inside: One Sister’s Captivity in North Korea and Other’s Fights to Bring Her Home,” about her sister, Laura, who was detained in North Korea after attempting to film refugees along the country’s border with China.

Ling is founder of MightyLings, a digital platform that promotes intergenerational strength, wellness and spirit building. She serves on the boards of the prison reentry organization CROP, the California Partners Project, The Asian American Foundation and the Kids Mental Health Foundation.
