MSME Ministry partners with Barantin to boost exports

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) reaffirmed its commitment to helping Indonesian businesses expand into export markets, including 33,935 registered MSMEs in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

To support the effort, the ministry will prepare a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Quarantine Authority (Barantin), according to Bagus Rachman, Deputy for Medium Enterprises.

He delivered the statement during an MSME event marking Palu's 48th anniversary in the city on Sunday.

Rachman said the planned collaboration is intended to broaden opportunities for local MSME products to grow and compete in international markets.

He noted that the development of MSMEs in Palu has been supported by the city's special economic zone (SEZ), established by the central government in 2014.

The SEZ is expected to develop into a major industrial hub capable of strengthening the local business ecosystem and supporting MSME growth in the provincial capital, Rachman added.

He also highlighted the ministry's SAPA UMKM platform, describing it as a digital application that integrates government services to support MSME development nationwide.

The platform functions as a single digital gateway to various services, including business verification, financing, certification, digital bookkeeping, and digital transactions.

Rachman said SAPA UMKM reflects the ministry's role in managing a unified database of Indonesian MSMEs while providing easier access to services offered by Barantin, ministries, and regional governments.

"Through this platform, MSMEs can access everything they need to grow through a one-stop system connected to services provided by central and regional governments," he said.
