Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's daughter Frances Bean Cobain made a surprise return to the red carpet in Los Angeles this week after an eight-year absence.
Frances, 34, who bears a striking resemblance to her Nirvana frontman father as she posed for photos at the premiere for the new crime comedy The Deputy.
The last time she was photographed arriving at a celebrity event was in 2018, when she joined her famous mom at the opening of a Los Angeles boutique and was snapped with Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson during New York Fashion Week.
And her last appearance at a public event was in June 2019 when she sat front row at a Moschino show held at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Frances's return to the spotlight comes even as questions linger about her grunge rocker dad's death in 1994 when she was just two years old.
Cobain was ruled to have committed suicide at age 27 after being found with a shotgun wound to his head at his Seattle home, although new revelations last month once again sparked fresh mystery.

Since 2023, Frances has been married to Riley Hawk, the son of skateboarding star Tony Hawk.
The couple wed in a ceremony officiated by her godfather, REM frontman Michael Stipe, who was a close friend of Kurt.
In 2024, they welcomed a son named Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk.
Riley told People last year that theirs is a 'a very quiet stay-at-home family' and that he and Frances 'don't really think too much about' their parents' legacy in entertainment, preferring to 'just do our own thing.'
Tony Hawk, however, has spoken publicly about how his daughter-in-law and grandson are missing Kurt's presence.
Posting a ticket stub of a Nirvana concert he attended in 1991, Tony wrote on Instagram in February 2025: 'I wish Kurt were here so he could see the incredible woman his daughter has become, meet her devoted, caring husband, and hold our wondrous grandchild.'

Frances' mother Courtney Love abused cocaine, heroin and pills before announcing in February 2020 that she had achieved 18 months of sobriety.
She lost custody of her daughter from 2003 until 2005 after a painkiller overdose, and in 2009 court documents revealed that the then 17-year-old Frances had been placed in her grandmother's guardianship.
Two years ago, to mark the 30th anniversary of her father's death, Frances reflected: 'I wish I could’ve known my Dad.
'I wish I knew the cadence of his voice, how he liked his coffee or the way it felt to be tucked in after a bedtime story.'
She noted, however, that he had 'gifted me a lesson in death that can only come through the LIVED experience of losing someone.
'It’s the gift of knowing for certain, when we love ourselves & those around us with compassion, with openness, with grace, the more meaningful our time here inherently becomes.'
