News24 | Woman raped and strangled, man stabbed to death in Pretoria

A man was stabbed and a woman strangled in Pretoria West.

Police are investigating two separate murders that occurred within 24 hours in Pretoria West, including the rape and strangulation of a 25-year-old woman.

At about 06:45 on Monday, police found the woman’s naked body on the floor inside a flat in Christoffel Street, police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said.

“She had visible bruises, and it is suspected that she was strangled and raped,” Muridili added.

“The provincial crime scene management and all the necessary role players attended the scene.”

On Tuesday at 06:15, police went to the scene of the second murder – that of a 40-year-old man – which was situated in WF Nkomo Street.

“No arrests have been made, and both victims have been identified,” Muridili said.
