New Ted Lasso favourite confirmed to lead "gripping, edge-of-the-seat" crime thriller

ITV has commissioned a new crime thriller titled Code Zero – and it’s led by Ted Lasso star Faye Marsay.

The upcoming series, which is written and created by James Hall (Death in Paradise), tells the tale of a heist gone wrong, and the lengths one officer goes to uncover the truth.

Marsay stars as Police Sergeant Laura Collier, who – alongside new recruit Cal (Sekou Diaby) – becomes ensnared in a meticulously crafted bank heist.

“As Laura and her team are pulled into a fast-paced cat-and-mouse investigation, the consequences of the heist begin to impact her life in ways she never could have imagined,” the synopsis teases.

It continues: “A ‘Code Zero’ is the most urgent call an officer can make, signalling that they are in immediate danger and need emergency assistance. The series hinges on a Code Zero called in episode one, setting in motion a race against time that will have profound consequences for every officer who answers it.”

Marsay, who alongside Ted Lasso, is best known for her roles in Game of Thrones, Andor and Ten Pound Poms, is joined in the case by Sion Daniel Young (Lost Boys and Fairies) as Darrell Haiton, Brendan Coyle (Toxic Town) as Phil Baynes, Rachel Shenton (All Creatures Great and Small) as Gemma Chapman, Sekou Diaby (Animol) as Cal Walters and Aneurin Barnard (Dunkirk) as Ferdie Kestevan.

Also starring are Anthony Welsh (The Flatshare) as Ed Collier, Steven Cree (Down Cemetery Road) as Doyle, Libby Mai (Youth) as Twitch, Adam Fidusiewicz (Vigil) as Ivan, Pooky Quesnel (Tip Toe) as Leanne Baynes, Kerim Hassan (My Fault) as Charlie Briggs and Christine Adams (Hijack) as Commander Harker.

Rounding out the cast are Vikash Bhai (Virdee) as DI Anderson, Kevin Eldon (Rings of Power) as Terry Underwood, Martin Trenaman (The Inbetweeners) as Roy Prescott, Steven Meo (Waiting for the Out) as Simon Peters and Lorraine Burroughs (Sweetpea) as Trisha Walters.

Meanwhile, behind the camera, Ashley Way (Who is Erin Carter) directs, while the show has been produced by Two Brothers Pictures (The Assassin) in association with All3Media International.
