Manga Mavericks Books, the publishing division of the Manga Mavericks website and podcast, and digital manga publisher Omoi announced on Monday that they have jointly licensed Man Izawa and Yumiko Igarashi's Georgie (Georgie!) manga for release in English. Omoi will release the series digitally in spring 2027 and Manga Mavericks Books will release the series in print in August 2027.

The companies describe the story:

Georgie is a lively young girl who lives with her mother and two older brothers in the countryside of Australia.

One day, she meets a young English noble named Lowell, who changes her life forever and leads her on a quest to England to discover her roots.

The original manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine from 1982-1984. Fairbell published the series in print and shipped the final volume in April 2014.

The series received an anime adaptation titled Lady Georgie in 1983.

The Manga Mavericks website and podcast established the Manga Mavericks Books publishing division in April 2025 to license, localize, and distribute works worldwide from indie creators in Japan.

Omoi (then Azuki) launched in June 2021 on iOS, Android, and web browser in English worldwide except Japan. The service offers simulpub manga chapters shortly after they launch in Japan in addition to a library of other titles. Omoi's first partnership was with Kodansha USA, and the service offered titles from the publisher's catalog at launch, until Kodansha ended simulpub manga distribution with the company and on other platforms in January 2023.

Omoi changed its name from Azuki in November 2025.
