There are few high-street collaborations I look forward to quite as much as Uniqlo x JW Anderson. The partnership has mastered that sweet spot between timeless wardrobe staples and the kind of thoughtful design details that make an outfit feel a little more considered. And the new autumn/winter 2026 collection is no exception.

Launching on 15 October, the latest drop takes inspiration from British heritage, academia and the creative world of theatre, bringing together elevated everyday essentials, vintage-inspired details and practical pieces designed for layering. Think cosy knits, classic checks and beautifully cut denim, with plenty of versatility built in.

The new Uniqlo x JW Anderson autumn/winter 2026 collection launches today

I had a first look at the collection, and while there are plenty of pieces worth your attention, these are the six I’d be adding to my basket first.

You can never have too many grey jumpers, right? Though this one also comes in navy, pale pink, true red and olive green. I particularly like the shorter V-neck design, which feels very current this season. I’d layer it over a crisp white T-shirt or add a T-bar or pendant necklace to draw attention to the neckline. The wool-cashmere blend is another selling point: warm, cosy and, I’m told, wonderfully soft against the skin. An everyday staple, but with a little more polish.

In case you hadn’t noticed, the flannel shirt is everywhere this season. It’s a trend I’m more than happy to get on board with, especially as the temperatures start to dip. This boxy style comes in stripes, checks and gingham, but it’s the latter that caught my attention in this muted beige-and-blue colourway. It’s giving pyjamas, but in the best way possible. I’d size up for an even more relaxed fit, then tuck it into off-white or grey tailored trousers to smarten things up.

I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of structured black tailored trousers, and these fit the bill perfectly. They have a lovely weight to them, so they’ll hold their shape, alongside a straight, wide leg and pleats that run from the waist to the hem. I also love the tiny pocket detail at the waist. It’s a subtle touch, but exactly the kind of detail that makes a high-street find look far more expensive than its £39.90 price tag. Wear them with a fine-knit jumper and loafers for an easy everyday look, or dress them up with a silky blouse for the evening.

A crisp white shirt is one of those wardrobe staples you’ll wear on repeat. The only downside? White shirts inevitably need replacing as they lose their brightness over time. Uniqlo’s cotton poplin shirts have become a high-street favourite, and this season’s version has some particularly lovely details: a softly rounded collar, voluminous sleeves and ruching at the back to create a more defined shape when tucked into trousers. At £9.90, it’s the sort of affordable wardrobe refresh that’s hard to argue with.

There’s something so chic about a pair of clean, indigo jeans. They have a way of making even the simplest outfit feel instantly more polished. I was already a fan of the straight-leg jeans from previous Uniqlo x JW Anderson collaborations, thanks to their mid-rise waist and just-right leg shape. The embroidered ‘JWA’ on the back pocket is another detail I love – a subtle signature that elevates an otherwise simple, timeless design. At £39.90, they’re a seriously good buy.

I’m a long-coat devotee, so I surprised myself by gravitating towards this short blouson. With its front zip, cropped length and relaxed silhouette, it feels like a fresh alternative to the outerwear I usually reach for. Of the three colourways, I’d get the most wear out of the navy version, which would instantly pull together a simple white T-shirt and jeans. I’m also rather taken with the grey-and-brown check. I’d style that one with barrel-leg jeans and loafers for a more fashion-forward take on the heritage trend, without veering too far into lumberjack territory.
