Mbeumo Rejects Claims Squad Has Failed Carrick After Loss To Chelsea

Translate

Man United star Bryan Mbeumo has firmly rejected suggestions that Red Devils’ players have let manager Michael Carrick down following their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Pressure is mounting on Carrick despite having guided United back into the Champions League just a few months ago, with recent results raising serious questions over his long-term future at Old Trafford.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Mbeumo was asked directly whether the squad had let their manager down during a difficult performance.

“No, obviously not. I think the mentality was there right from the first minute,” Mbeumo insisted.

United’s task became considerably harder after being reduced to ten men, but Mbeumo praised the squad’s unity under challenging circumstances. “(It was) harder with 10 men. We still trust everyone. With the man down, we still had some frustrations at the end, but I think we have done everything as a team.”

Despite the setback, the forward drew encouragement from United’s bright opening period before the red card altered the course of the game.

“I think we did a lot of right things, especially in the first half when we could have been up,” Mbeumo added. “In the first half, we had a lot of chances, which is a positive. The last few games we didn’t create a lot, but obviously, they are a good team with quality.”

Looking ahead, Mbeumo maintained that the commitment remains intact as United look to bounce back. “What we have shown, the mentality was there. Everyone worked really hard, and we still have to find some bits at the training ground.”
