‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ won’t be getting online multiplayer until 2027

Twitch boss Dan Clancy says Grand Theft Auto 6 Online will launch next year.

Grand Theft Auto 5’s online multiplayer launched October 1, 2013, a few weeks after the release of the base game. However it looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 fans will have more of a wait.

Earlier this month, Rockstar Games announced the “next evolution” of the current Grand Theft Auto Online offering, via a collab with role-playing community nopixel. During a shareholder meeting yesterday (September 17), Take Two bosses described Grand Theft Auto 6 as a “single-player title” before saying they will “continue to support GTA Online after GTA 6 releases, and beyond.

In a new interview, Twitch boss Dan Clancy said he’s “spent a lot of time” talking to Rockstar Games about their plans for Grand Theft Auto 6 and the future of Online. “We spent a lot of time helping them think about how they can engage our creators,” Clancy told Bloomberg. “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”

Yesterday, Rockstar Games announced ‘Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album’, a 34-track album featuring exclusive songs from some of the biggest artists in the world. The full soundtrack is still to be announced, but six songs from the likes of Travis Scott, Future, Fred Again.., Morgan Wallen, Pink Pantheress and Keith Richards have been made available to stream to give you a taste of Vice City. The album is also getting a number of different vinyl and CD variants.

Grand Theft Auto 6 and ‘The Album’ both launch November 19.

In other news, it seems that gaming fans are loving Marvel’s Wolverine despite a string of average reviews from critics. The game is currently the worst-reviewed release from game developers Insomniac but the action brawler is racking up glowing reviews from players.
