Prime Minister Andy Burnham is swapping Number 10 for the sofa, joining a star-studded line-up for Gogglebox's Stand Up To Cancer special on Channel 4 this Friday.

Burnham, who became Prime Minister in July 2026 after years as Mayor of Greater Manchester, will be reacting to the week's television alongside the Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotheram, for the charity episode. It airs on Friday 23 October at 9:05pm on Channel 4.

The Prime Minister has a longstanding commitment to supporting charities, building on his work as Mayor of Greater Manchester and continuing in office as Prime Minister.

A short tease of the pair settling in to review the telly was shared on Instagram, giving fans a taste of what's to come on Friday night.

Burnham and Rotheram join the recently announced Sugababes, made up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy, and comedian Joe Lycett, who watches with his aunties Margaret and Pauline, for the one-off. More celebrity TV critics are still to be announced.

The special sees famous faces sit down with Gogglebox regulars to deliver their honest verdicts on the week's biggest television moments, mixing humour with more poignant stories, all in aid of the cause.

Stand Up To Cancer is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4. Stars including Naomi Campbell, Noel Gallagher, Tom Hardy, Gillian Anderson, Idris Elba and Andy Murray are among the talent to have supported Stand Up To Cancer over the years.

Gogglebox Stand Up To Cancer special airs on Friday 23 October at 9:05pm on Channel 4.
