Translate

Semarang, C Java (ANTARA) - Immigration officials in Central Java have flagged three Chinese nationals working on the Semarang-Demak toll road project for suspected permit violations, including working outside their authorized locations.

Haryono Susilo, head of Intelligence and Enforcement at the Semarang Immigration Office, said the findings followed an inspection of foreign workers at the toll road project.

The suspected violations included misuse of residence permits and discrepancies between authorized and actual work locations, he said here Saturday.

Officials asked the three Chinese nationals to report to the Semarang Immigration Office for further questioning.

Haryono said immigration monitoring was essential to ensuring that all foreign nationals living and working in Indonesia comply with applicable regulations.

“We are continuing active monitoring, including at strategic infrastructure projects and companies employing foreign workers,” he said.

He stressed that all foreign nationals must hold valid immigration documents and conduct activities in accordance with the conditions of their residence permits.

He said the Semarang Immigration Office would handle every suspected violation professionally, proportionately and in accordance with established procedures.

He also urged companies and employers of foreign workers to ensure their employees have complete documentation and that their activities and workplaces comply with their immigration permits.
