Gasoline and diesel prices at service stations across Egypt have remained stable, in accordance with the latest decision by the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products, which maintained existing prices with no increases or changes.

The announced fuel prices:

  • 80-Octane gasoline: LE 20.75 per liter.
  • 92-Octane gasoline: LE 22.25 per liter.
  • 95-Octane gasoline: LE 24.00 per liter.
  • Diesel: LE 20.50 per liter.
  • Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles: LE 13.00 per cubic meter.

Will Fuel Prices Increase?

Citizens and vehicle owners are questioning whether there will be a new increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel, particularly as they monitor global oil price trends and the exchange rate of the Egyptian pound against foreign currencies.

The Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products decided, during its most recent meeting on October 15, to maintain current fuel prices without any adjustments, following a review of economic variables and global indicators that influence the cost of petroleum products.

Consequently, gas stations will continue to apply the currently announced prices, with no new decision issued to raise the cost of gasoline or diesel, at least until Saturday, November 31.

What factors determine gasoline prices in Egypt?

The automatic pricing mechanism for petroleum products is based on a review of several economic factors, most notably:

  1. Brent crude oil prices in global markets.
  2. The exchange rate of the Egyptian pound against foreign currencies.
  3. The cost of producing and importing petroleum products.
  4. Costs related to transportation, handling, and production.

These variables are reviewed to make decisions regarding fuel prices, in accordance with the established mechanism.

When will the new gasoline prices be announced?

Markets and citizens alike are awaiting any new decisions from the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products, which is tasked with reviewing factors that influence fuel costs and determining whether price adjustments—such as increases, maintaining current levels, or reductions—are necessary.

The existing prices will remain in effect until an official new decision is issued by the relevant authorities.
